Leah Gardner

Leah Gardner is a landscape/graphic designer, consultant, artist, and co-owner of Gardner Monaco Design. She brings her love and knowledge of native plants and plant communities, appreciation of nature and landscapes, and over 25 years of design experience to their work. Leah earned a B.S. in Horticulture and Landscape Design from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville (where she co-founded the Environmental Landscape Design service-learning Lab), and a Masters in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia in Athens.

Joan Monaco

Joan Monaco is a landscape/architectural designer in Knoxville. Her background in health and environmental impact assessment and policy associated with the green building industry, field experience in construction, and knowledge of native plant communities informs Gardner Monaco’s innovative design-build operation. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Plant Sciences and Landscape Systems minor.
